About Me
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on 26 April 1982. I have been employed for the past 18 years and have seen my career grow and diversify over this time period. I started my corporate working career at First National Bank (FNB) within their marketing department. I later moved into the IT sector, fulfilling the role as a MIS Analyst. This was where my career really started growning and I discovered my interest in databases, and web development. This interest has taken my career to where it is today, a Database Administrator and Business Intelligence Analyst for a small company.
Outside of work, enjoy spending most of my time outdoors. It was around about 2012 when I discovered trail running, and over the past years it has become one of, if not my favorite past time. Towards the end of 2018, I decided to start writing my own blog, | Trail Hogs | , so that I could share some of my experiences and learnings with others who may also want to explore the adventurous outdoor world of Trail Running.
Trail running is not the only thing I enjoy but definately is the one thing I do talk about the most. So if I'm not out on the trails, where would I be or what else would you find me doing in my spare time? Some of my other interests include woodworking, Geocaching, collecting Collector's Movie Boxsets, and a more recent addition to this would be collecting LEGO©.

Skills Proficiency
Within my working career I have been exposed to a number of technologies, and in doing so have been forced to learn certain skill sets on the job. I personally believe that this is one of the best ways for a person to gather knowlegde, as the is no better experience than hands-on experience. Although I do not work on each of these techonoligies in my day to day job, I do try to constantly keep up-to-date with most of these.
